Kenya Power Announces Planned Outage in Parts of Nyeri on Tuesday

NYERI, Kenya — Kenya Power has announced a planned power interruption that will affect parts of Nyeri County on Tuesday, December 23, as part of routine network maintenance works in the Mt. Kenya Region.

In a notice issued on Monday, December 22, the utility company said the outage will run from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., affecting customers in Karicheni, Gatuamba, and Thungari areas.

According to Kenya Power, areas scheduled to experience the interruption include Karicheni opposite Kwa Murungaru, Kieni Technical, Nyeri Junior School, and Kings Medical.

Other affected locations are Thungari, Njumbi Farm, Hossanah Dairies, Ndirirti Primary School, the whole of Gatuamba, Msafiri, Mt Carmel School, Aguthi, and adjacent customers.

Kenya Power said the planned outage is necessary to allow technicians to carry out scheduled maintenance on the electricity network to improve service reliability.

The company advised residents and businesses in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements ahead of the interruption.
