Musician Ian Okwemba Oure, popularly known by his stage name Iyanii, is once again capturing headlines after revealing that he was offered a substantial cash sum to surrender his virginity — an offer that he chose to reject.
In an appearance on the Mic Cheque Podcast in December 2025, Iyanii spoke openly about his intimate life and the surprising offers he has received.
According to the singer, he has remained a virgin at 27 — a decision he says is deliberate and rooted in his personal convictions. However, this commitment has not stopped admirers from trying to tempt him with money.
“I am genuinely 27 and genuinely a virgin,” Iyanii told podcast hosts, recounting a message he received from a woman who offered him Sh 500,000 just to sleep with her.
What began as a seemingly exaggerated message quickly escalated. He revealed that the woman increased her offer — eventually saying she would pay up to Sh 3 million — if he agreed to let her take his “purity.” Despite the eye-watering sum, Iyanii said he laughed it off and declined.
The Donjo Maber hitmaker explained that being offered money for his virginity is not an isolated event. He claimed that multiple fans and followers have approached him with similar propositions, telling him they want the honour of taking his virginity.
Despite these repeated approaches, he insists his stance remains firm: he is waiting for the “right person” and wants to preserve himself for marriage.
On social media, some fans and commentators praised his resolve and commitment to his values, applauding him for standing by his personal beliefs in an era where celebrity culture often revolves around sensationalism and shock value.
Others, however, expressed scepticism about the truth of the claims, questioning whether the story might be exaggerated or misinterpreted for publicity.
Some even joked about the improbability of such offers or suggested that it was a stunt designed to attract media attention.
Adding a personal dimension to his narrative, Iyanii has also spoken about his current relationship with Instagram personality Shes Kemunto.
According to earlier interviews, the couple has chosen to maintain a platonic relationship and remain celibate as part of their shared journey toward marriage.
In an earlier interview Iyanii explained that though they are officially dating, their physical interactions are limited to brief hugs, and they adhere to rules they set together — including placing barriers when they sleep in the same room.
