Rap Star King Kaka has publicly introduced his daughter, 11-year-old Gweth Lisawanza, as the creative director for his forthcoming project ‘The Year Of The Pen’ in a social media announcement that has since gone viral.
The announcement was made through a reel on King Kaka’s official Instagram page, captioned: “Creative Director – The Year Of The Pen. Introducing Gweth Lisawanza.”
In the clip, Gweth appears confidently on camera to explain her role, share how she got the position and discuss her involvement with the creative process.
Gweth’s appointment wasn’t merely symbolic, it came after a creative challenge set by her father. He apparently asked her to design the concept for the The Year Of The Pen album cover.
Gweth took up the brief, created her own sketch and sent it to him and it eventually became the foundation of the final artwork.
In her own words on camera, Gweth explained she balanced her school duties with her creative role, identifying herself as both a student and a “business lady.”
Her role included evaluating and approving graphic design elements tied to the project’s visuals. She described the work as collaborative, but stressed that she exercised real oversight on visual decisions and was not just “decorating.”
At one point in the clip, she showcased the final painting on camera — pointing out that it closely followed her original idea. “This is the final painting,” she said. “I am the one who did the sketch and it’s the same idea that I had.”

In traditional creative industries, a creative director is responsible for the artistic vision of a project including visual identity, design themes, color schemes, promotional art and overall concept direction.
While it’s rare for someone so young to hold such a title professionally, King Kaka’s announcement presents Gweth’s involvement as more than ceremonial, with documented contributions to his album’s visual strategy.
In the Instagram reel, King Kaka reaffirmed the announcement with the same caption wording, situating her role firmly within the Year Of The Pen project’s creative process.
The announcement ignited strong reactions online. Many fans praised King Kaka’s decision to publicly acknowledge his daughter’s creative input and empower a young voice in his artistic work.
Others have debated whether the title is a formal industry appointment or more of a family branding move tied to the album’s release.
