NAIROBI, Kenya —The Ministry of Health (MoH) has issued an update on the posting of the next cohort of medical interns, set to begin on July 1, 2025.
To streamline the posting process and ensure fairness in the allocation of internship placements, the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) will conduct an online balloting exercise for pre-intern graduates on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
The balloting process will determine the placement of medical interns at their respective internship centers across the country.
Graduates will be able to view the outcome of their individual results immediately following the online balloting on the same day.
The Ministry will receive the final results by Friday, May 2, 2025, and the posting process will be facilitated accordingly.
This new cohort of interns will play a crucial role in strengthening Kenya’s healthcare service delivery, as the Ministry of Health continues to prioritize the development of skilled healthcare professionals.

In a statement, the Ministry emphasized that this year’s balloting will be conducted transparently, with the utmost priority given to ensuring a smooth and efficient placement process.
The Ministry further assured the public that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure that the interns are deployed to a variety of centers where their training will be most beneficial.
This initiative aims to reduce the pressure on understaffed medical facilities while providing interns with the clinical exposure they need to develop their expertise.
