MultiChoice Kenya to Hike DStv Prices From August 1

NAIROBI, Kenya-Pay-TV provider MultiChoice Kenya has announced new subscription prices for its DStv packages, set to take effect from August 1, 2025.

The company says the changes are part of an annual price review aimed at balancing affordability with the cost of delivering quality entertainment.

In the announcement released Monday, MultiChoice confirmed modest price increases for its satellite TV services, DStv and GOtv, while unveiling a rare price reduction for its Showmax streaming service.

Under the new rates, DStv Premium will now cost Sh11,700 per month (up from Sh11,000), Compact Plus will rise to Sh7,300, and Compact to Sh4,200. 

Family and Access packages will now be Sh2,250 and Sh1,450 respectively, with DStv Lite remaining unchanged at Sh 750.

GOtv packages have also been adjusted, with the Supa Plus bouquet now costing Sh3,199, Supa at Sh2,199, and Max at Sh1,699. 

The entry-level Lite bouquet will now cost Sh299.

The General Entertainment (GE) package will drop from Sh650 to Sh550, while GE Mobile will go from Sh 300 to Sh200. 

Bundled packages such as GE + Premier League will now cost Sh800, down from Sh1,000.

“These changes reflect the dynamic operating environment while ensuring we remain affordable and accessible to our customers.”

The company also revised pricing for DStv Business packages across Stay, Play, and Work segments, and maintained add-on packages at Sh500 each.
