Kenyan comedian, radio host, and entertainer Oga Obinna has once again become the talk of social media after revealing that he is now a father of five. The popular media personality disclosed that he recently welcomed a baby girl named Ellany, whose existence was kept secret from him for months.
Obinna, known for his humor and unfiltered personality, shared in interviews and on his social media pages that Ellany was born on September 7, 2024. On that day, the entertainer says he was in Kitale, emceeing the homecoming event for content creator Dem Wa Facebook, completely unaware that he was becoming a father again miles away.
The revelation, he explained, came much later when he learned about the child from third parties. According to Obinna, the baby’s mother had allegedly stopped using family planning without telling him and kept the pregnancy hidden until after Ellany was born.
“I didn’t know. I only came to learn later on,” he said, adding that while the circumstances caught him off guard, he has chosen to embrace his new role with pride.
Obinna formally introduced Ellany to the public earlier this month through a post and video where his older daughter, Lola, is seen holding and bonding with the newborn. The heartwarming clip, showing Lola cradling her baby sister with tenderness, quickly went viral, with fans applauding Obinna for stepping up as a father despite the unconventional way he found out about his child.
Though clearly surprised by the news, Obinna has been candid about his views on fatherhood. He acknowledged that while Ellany was unplanned, he does not regret welcoming another child.
The entertainer also admitted he initially asked for a DNA test but later decided it wasn’t necessary. His tone, a mix of humor and acceptance, reflects his characteristic way of addressing personal issues publicly while keeping the conversation lighthearted.
This is not the first time Oga Obinna’s family life has made news. The entertainer has four other children from different relationships, and he has often spoken openly about the challenges of co-parenting and dealing with multiple baby mamas.
