NAIROBI, Kenya – The National Assembly has set Friday, April 4, and Monday, April 7, as the dates for the vetting of Principal Secretary nominees appointed by President William Ruto.
According to a notice issued by National Assembly Clerk Samwel Njoroge, the hearings will be conducted by relevant departmental committees.
The public has until Thursday, April 3, at 5 pm to submit representations regarding the nominees’ suitability, supported by sworn statements and evidence.
Submissions can be made via mail, hand-delivery, or email at cna@parliament.go.ke.
Among those scheduled for vetting are Ahmed Ibrahim, nominated as PS for National Government Coordination, Caroline Karugu for EAC Affairs, Stephen Isaboke for Broadcasting and Telecommunication, and Abdulrazak Shaukat for Science, Research, and Innovation.
Other nominees include Ouma Oluga (Medical Services), Jane Imbunya (Public Services), Michael Lenasalon (Devolution), and Fikirini Jacobs (Youth Affairs).
Nominees are required to present original identification documents, academic and professional certificates, and letters or certificates of compliance from institutions such as the EACC, KRA, HELB, DCI, Office of the Registrar of Political Parties, and Credit Reference Bureau.
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula referred the nominees’ names and credentials to the respective committees for review and reporting to the House.
