Pauline Njoroge Announces Bid for Nairobi Political Seat Ahead of 2027 Elections

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- Digital strategist and political commentator Pauline Njoroge has officially announced her intention to run for a political seat in Nairobi, signaling a significant shift from her previous work behind the scenes to pursuing elected office.

The announcement, made during a televised interview on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, marks Njoroge’s formal entry into the political arena ahead of the 2027 general elections, positioning her as one of the emerging voices in Nairobi’s increasingly competitive political landscape.

Njoroge, widely recognized for her digital advocacy and political strategy expertise, spoke candidly about her motivation to transition from commentator to candidate.

She explained that her desire to run stems from a long-standing passion for public service and a commitment to ensuring tangible improvements in governance for Nairobi residents.

“I grew up with a dream,” Njoroge said during her interview on Citizen TV.

“Politics used to intimidate me, but over the years I have realized that this is where I can make the greatest impact. I am passionate about serving Nairobians and delivering results that they can see and feel.”

While she has not yet disclosed the exact seat she intends to contest, Njoroge emphasized that her campaign will be rooted in addressing pressing urban issues, improving service delivery, and amplifying the voices of ordinary citizens who feel left out of decision-making processes.

Njoroge’s interest in politics is not new. In her remarks, she traced her fascination back to her school days, when classmates would joke about her becoming a member of parliament for Githunguri because of her keen interest in political affairs.

Despite that early enthusiasm, she admitted that witnessing national political dynamics firsthand at a young age left her somewhat disillusioned for a time.

It was only after years of professional engagement — including working alongside key national figures, notably former President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga — that Njoroge decided to pursue elected office herself.

Her experience, she explained, has provided her with an understanding of both the mechanics of governance and the power of digital engagement in modern politics.

“I have been behind the scenes, strategizing and advocating, but I realized that to make the impact I desire, I must step forward as a candidate,” Njoroge said.

“I want to turn policies and promises into tangible outcomes for the people of Nairobi.”

Njoroge also addressed the current state of governance in Nairobi. She critiqued popular slogans, including Governor Johnson Sakaja’s “Nairobi lazima i-work,” arguing that such phrases often fail to translate into practical improvements in the lives of residents.

She suggested that her entry into politics is driven by a commitment to ensure accountability and performance, particularly in urban planning, infrastructure, and public service delivery.

“My focus will be on action, not slogans,” Njoroge said. “People deserve leadership that is effective and results-oriented.”

Although she remains strategic about the specifics of her candidacy, Njoroge confirmed she will soon announce the exact seat she intends to contest.

Her presence is expected to particularly resonate with younger voters and urban residents who value digital literacy and strategic communication skills in political leadership.

Njoroge’s career background includes extensive experience in digital advocacy, online political campaigns, and public communications.

She has served as a key strategist within the Jubilee Party and has been an outspoken commentator on national politics, using her platform to influence public opinion and mobilize support around key issues.

Over the months, she has also publicly aligned herself with the United Opposition coalition, signaling potential strategic alliances as she embarks on her own political journey.
