PS Korir Sing’oei Chairs Final Technical Meeting Ahead of Dutch Monarch State Visit to Kenya

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya– Kenya has concluded final preparations for the upcoming State Visit by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, scheduled for March 18–20, 2025.

Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary (PS) Dr. Korir Sing’oei chaired the last technical meeting on Tuesday morning, alongside Tourism PS John Ololtuaa, to ensure all logistical and diplomatic details are in place for the high-profile visit.

The Dutch monarchs’ visit is expected to reinforce the long-standing relationship between Kenya and the Netherlands, which dates back over a century.

The first Dutch nationals arrived in Kenya in 1906, settling in Uasin Gishu County, with formal diplomatic ties established in the 1970s.

“This visit presents an opportunity to deepen our cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, and other key sectors,” Dr. Sing’oei stated after the meeting.

Kenya and the Netherlands maintain strong economic and diplomatic relations, with the European nation being one of Kenya’s major trading partners, particularly in horticulture and sustainable development initiatives.
