NYANDARUA, Kenya- A hiking expedition at Ragia Falls in Ragia Forest, Njabini Kiburu Ward, Kinangop, Nyandarua County, turned tragic on Friday evening after two young men fell into the waterfall while taking selfies.
The incident occurred at the popular tourist site as the two were posing for photos near the falls when they slipped and plunged into the water.
Search and rescue operations were immediately launched but were suspended due to darkness, with efforts set to resume on Saturday.

Rescue teams moved to the scene shortly after the incident but were forced to halt operations as visibility deteriorated.
Authorities said the search mission will continue with daylight to improve safety and effectiveness.
As of the time of reporting, the bodies of the two victims had not been recovered, and officials had not issued a formal statement on the incident.
Popular Tourist Destination
Ragia Falls is a well-known hiking and tourism site in Nyandarua, attracting visitors for its scenic views, Mau Mau caves, and proximity to the Sasumua Dam.
The area is frequented by hikers, particularly during weekends and holidays.
The two victims are reported to be residents of Kĩhunguru and Rwanyambo villages in South Kinangop.
