NAIROBI, Kenya— The Senate is set to hold a special sitting today, Friday, following a gazette notice issued by Senate Speaker Amason Kingi.
According to the gazette notice, the sitting will focus on five key legislative items centered on revenue distribution and county funding.
These include the Equalisation Fund Appropriation Bill (Senate Bills No. 7 of 2025), the County Allocation of Revenue Bill (Senate Bills No. 9 of 2025), and the County Governments Additional Allocations (No. 2) Bill (Senate Bills No. 8 of 2025).
Also on the agenda is the consideration of the Mediation Committee’s report on the Division of Revenue Bill, 2025 (National Assembly Bills No. 10 of 2025), alongside the agreed version of the Bill critical legislation guiding how revenue is shared between the national and county governments.
Per Senate Standing Order, no business outside the scope of the notice will be entertained during the session.
