NAIROBI, Kenya – The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced the loss of a crucial land document—a title deed for its property located in Nairobi’s South C area.
In a public notice, KNEC disclosed that the grant title for Land Reference Number 209/6900 has gone missing and urged any member of the public who may come across the document to report it immediately.
“Anybody who may have come across this document is requested to drop it at the KNEC offices in South C, off Mombasa Road in Nairobi, or at the nearest police station,” the notice stated.
While details surrounding the loss remain scant, the disappearance of such an important title deed raises concerns about record-keeping and the security of vital public documents at key national institutions.
The South C property is believed to house part of KNEC’s administrative operations, making the title an essential legal instrument for the council.
This is not the first time a government agency has reported a missing title deed, and such incidents often spark fears of potential fraud or attempts at land grabbing, especially in Nairobi’s high-value zones.
KNEC, which is responsible for overseeing national examinations and certification in Kenya, has appealed to the public for cooperation in recovering the document.
