NAIROBI, Kenya – Truecaller, the global contact verification platform, has surpassed 100 million monthly active users in the Middle East and Africa (MEA), marking a 19% year-over-year growth.
The app is now used on 20 to 45 percent of smartphones in major markets such as Egypt, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Algeria, and Jordan.
“With the Middle East and Africa experiencing significant growth in smartphone adoption and mobile data adoption, we’re really happy that we’re able to solve communication problems for individuals and businesses in that region,” said Truecaller CEO Rishit Jhunjhunwala.
“MEA, like India and many other markets, are mobile first markets with your mobile number being the primary identifier, and Truecaller has always grown organically in such markets.”
Truecaller’s increased usage highlights the rising demand for dependable communication tools as smartphone penetration expands across the region.
The platform’s contact verification and spam-blocking features are particularly valued in markets where mobile numbers serve as primary digital identifiers.
As smartphone and mobile data adoption continue to grow in MEA, Truecaller says its strong regional presence and strategy position it well to meet the increasing need for trusted communication services.
