According to TechCrunch, the company has sold its innovative device to over 500,000 healthcare providers, impacting millions of patients.
The stethoscope collects vast amounts of chest sound and ECG data, which Eko uses to develop sophisticated algorithms for identifying heart problems.
“The stethoscope exam is incredibly inconsistent and inaccurate. Patients get late diagnoses, or they get misdiagnosed. We want to bring precision using AI that could enable patients to get earlier, more competent diagnoses,” said Connor Landgraf, CEO and founder of Eko Health.
Traditional stethoscopes often miss subtle disease indicators, leading to late or incorrect diagnoses.
Eko’s device, however, merges heart sounds with cardiac rhythm assessments, enabling primary care doctors and nurses to detect issues with a precision akin to that of a cardiologist.
Clinical Validation and Investment Success
A study by Massachusetts General Hospital demonstrated that Eko’s AI technology identified more cases of heart disease than primary care doctors, showcasing its potential to revolutionize diagnostics.
This clinical success has not gone unnoticed by investors. Eko Health recently secured $41 million in a Series D funding round.
This influx of capital will undoubtedly fuel further innovation and expansion.
