NAIROBI, Kenya — The Kenya Space Agency (KSA), in partnership with Expertise France (EF), will host the first-ever ActInSpace Kenyan Chapter on 30–31 January 2026 at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD).
The event is a capacity-building initiative aimed at supporting the growth of Kenya’s space ecosystem, with participation drawn from university students who will be pre-selected through earlier hackathons.
The Kenyan chapter of ActInSpace forms part of the broader Data Governance in Africa Initiative, which is being implemented in collaboration with the African Union.
The programme seeks to promote effective data use and cross-border data flows to inform public policy, generate value, and foster innovation across the continent.

The initiative is funded by the European Union, alongside contributions from Belgium, Estonia, Finland, France, and Germany.
ActInSpace was launched in 2014 by the Centre National d’Études Spatiales (CNES) and has since been co-organised with the European Space Agency (ESA).
The 2026 edition is being operated by Telecom Valley and the SAFE Cluster.
The event marks a significant milestone for Kenya as it seeks to strengthen local capacity in space science, innovation, and data-driven solutions, while positioning itself within the global space and technology ecosystem.
