NAIROBI, Kenya- In a bid to bolster Kenya’s cybersecurity talent pool, Microsoft’s Africa Development Centre (ADC) has teamed up with Cyber Shujaa to launch an upskilling initiative.
The program aims to equip 100 students across Kenya with essential cybersecurity skills, addressing a critical need in the country’s rapidly evolving tech landscape.
Addressing the Talent Gap
With cybersecurity becoming increasingly vital in today’s digital age, the organizations said the collaboration between Microsoft ADC and Cyber Shujaa couldn’t come at a better time.
By tapping into the expertise of Serianu Limited, United States International University-Africa (USIU-Africa), and Kenya Bankers Association (KBA), the initiative promises to bridge the cybersecurity skills gap in Kenya.
Comprehensive Training Curriculum
The three-month program will enroll a diverse cohort of 70 undergraduate and 30 graduate students, providing them with hands-on training in eight key cybersecurity domains.
From network security to cloud security and incident response, participants will gain practical insights and theoretical knowledge essential for thriving in the cybersecurity landscape.
Empowering Kenya’s Tech Ecosystem
Through this collaboration, the companies aim to empower Kenyan youth to become cybersecurity professionals, contributing to the country’s tech ecosystem.
