Safaricom Boosts Kenyan SMEs with Enhanced 5G for Business

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- In a bold move to empower Kenya’s thriving small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), Safaricom has launched its upgraded 5G for Business service, promising lightning-fast connectivity and affordability.

With speeds up to five times faster, the new offering is designed to cater to the country’s digital-savvy entrepreneurs and their evolving needs in an increasingly competitive market.

Here’s the big news: SMEs on Safaricom’s 10 Mbps plans will now enjoy speeds of up to 50 Mbps—at no extra charge. Similarly, those subscribed to 20 Mbps and 50 Mbps packages can upgrade to 100 Mbps and 250 Mbps, respectively, all at their existing rates.

Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa called the service a game-changer. “The new 5G for Business will empower SMEs to enhance productivity, improve customer interactions, and scale operations efficiently, all while managing their costs,” he said.

The service aims to address the growing connectivity demands of Kenya’s 7.4 million SMEs, helping them adopt real-time collaboration, seamless online transactions, and reliable remote work solutions.

Kenya’s SMEs play a pivotal role in the economy, and reliable internet is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity.

Safaricom’s enhanced 5G ensures businesses can keep pace with the digital-first economy, where fast, dependable internet can mean the difference between thriving and merely surviving.

This move is especially timely as the demand for seamless connectivity continues to rise. Businesses can now foster greater efficiency, elevate customer experiences, and explore new digital opportunities without worrying about escalating costs.

To sweeten the deal, Safaricom is offering a 25pc discount on all 5G plans for businesses that sign up between November 29 and December 31, 2024.

This limited-time offer is an enticing incentive for SMEs looking to future-proof their operations and tap into the power of cutting-edge connectivity.
