Ex-Alliance Girls Teacher Found Guilty of Immoral Conduct by TSC After Sexual Exploitation Probe

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya – The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has found former Alliance Girls High School teacher Peter Ayiro guilty of immoral conduct following allegations of grooming and sexually exploiting students, revelations that surfaced after a damning media exposé.

TSC Director of Legal, Labour and Industrial Relations Cavin Anyuor told the Senate Education Committee that an internal probe conducted on July 25, 2025, established that Ayiro engaged in inappropriate behaviour with learners.

“This was done in the case of Alliance Girls’ High School. The panel summoned relevant witnesses and held an investigatory meeting on July 25, 2025,” Anyuor said, noting that witnesses included the whistle-blower, students, teachers, and the school chaplain.

The scandal was brought to light by African Uncensored’s investigative documentary “The Teacher and the System,” which detailed allegations that Ayiro groomed students while in school and continued exploiting them after they had left.

Although Ayiro resigned on August 17, before disciplinary hearings could commence, TSC said it would still exercise its regulatory authority, including the option of deregistering him from the roll of teachers.

“The employment relationship has now been severed. However, TSC, as the regulator, can still remove him from the register of teachers,” Anyuor said. “The process may result in interdiction, a warning, or deregistration.”

In his resignation letter, Ayiro dismissed the accusations as false and said he was the target of “persistent cyberbullying, public humiliation and threats.”

He confirmed paying Sh105,000—one month’s salary in lieu of notice—through M-Pesa to TSC, saying he sought to protect his dignity after 26 years in the profession.

His resignation comes amid growing public scrutiny of sexual misconduct in schools and calls for stronger safeguards to protect students.
