Fans Breach Gate as Harambee Stars Gear Up for Morocco Clash at Kasarani

Date:

The build-up to Sunday’s 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) clash between Harambee Stars and Morocco was electric — and chaotic — as hundreds of fans forced their way into the Moi Sports Centre, Kasarani.

In scenes caught on camera, supporters dressed in team jerseys and chanting loudly pushed through a stadium gate as security guards stood by. The atmosphere was charged with excitement ahead of the 3 p.m. kickoff.

Ruto’s Million-Shilling Pledge

President William Ruto threw his weight behind the team, urging Kenyans to pray for the Stars and promising hefty rewards for strong performances.

“For every game they win, every player will walk away with Sh1 million. If they draw, they get Sh500,000. I have already paid them for earlier wins,” Ruto said.

The President also promised instant celebrations for goals scored:

“If they score a goal, you celebrate — and I will pay.”

Group A Standing

Kenya heads into the Morocco match top of Group A with four points, following a victorious opener against DR Congo and a spirited 1-1 draw with Angola. A win over the Atlas Lions would put McCarthy’s men in a commanding position to qualify for the next stage.
