Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya — The Ministry of Education has released the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results, revealing that out of 993,226 candidates, female students outnumbered their male counterparts for the second consecutive year.

Education CS Ogamba Migos stated that 492,012 candidates were male, representing 49.54 pc of the total, while 501,214 were female, accounting for 50.46 pc.

“This trend reflects a continued improvement in girls’ access to and performance in secondary education,” he said.

The results show a near-even gender distribution, signaling progress towards gender parity in Kenya’s education system.

This marks the second year in a row that female candidates have outnumbered males, underscoring sustained efforts to promote inclusivity in education.
