NAIROBI, Kenya — The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has announced a countrywide recruitment exercise offering Kenyans employment opportunities abroad under the Kazi Majuu initiative, targeting both skilled and semi-skilled workers.
In a statement released on Monday, October 28, Labour Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred Mutua said the recruitment drive is part of the government’s plan to create decent job opportunities for Kenyans in Dubai and Saudi Arabia through verified and licensed recruitment agencies.
“The Government, in conjunction with credible job recruitment agencies, invites qualified male and female candidates for interviews and job placements in reputable companies overseas,” said Dr. Mutua.
He explained that the initiative aligns with the government’s broader goal of reducing unemployment, especially among young people, while strengthening labour migration frameworks to protect Kenyan workers abroad.
According to the ministry, available positions in Dubai include:
- Taxi Drivers (350) — Ages 22–45
- Riders/Delivery Drivers (500) — Ages 21–38
- Warehouse & E-Pickers/Helpers (300) — Ages 21–40
- Security Guards (150) — Ages 21–38, minimum height 5’7 ft, fluent in English
- Cleaners (Male & Female) — Ages 22–35
- Waitresses/Hotel Housekeepers — Ages 22–35
- Masons, Steel Fixers, Carpenters, and General Labourers (175) — Ages 21–45
The positions come with a two-year renewable contract and benefits, including free accommodation, meals, transportation, medical insurance, and overtime pay, in accordance with UAE labor laws. Successful candidates will also be entitled to 30 days of annual leave.
For Saudi Arabia, the government has secured opportunities for drivers (50) and mechanics (25), offering similar benefits, including accommodation, food, medical cover, and transport.
Dr. Mutua stated that the government will closely monitor the process to ensure that only credible agencies handle recruitment and placement, safeguarding Kenyans from exploitation.
Interviews for shortlisted candidates will be conducted between Wednesday, October 29, and Friday, October 31, 2025, at National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) centres in Mombasa and Athi River.

Applicants are required to bring their National ID, academic and professional certificates, passport or proof of application, passport photos, and any relevant work documents.
A mandatory commission fee will apply to cover expenses such as air tickets, medical examinations, training, service fees, visa processing, and documentation.
The ministry has urged applicants to arrive early at the interview venues, carry packed meals, and prepare for possible on-the-spot assessments.
Dr. Mutua reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding foreign employment programs under the Kazi Majuu initiative, emphasizing that the scheme will continue to open doors for Kenyans in reputable companies abroad while promoting fair labour practices and safe migration.
