NAIROBI, Kenya — Israel’s envoy to Kenya, Gideon Behar, has assured that Kenyans and other foreign nationals living or travelling in Israel remain safe despite heightened security tensions in the region.
Speaking during the Capital in the Morning show on Thursday, the ambassador said the Israeli government has put in place extensive safety measures to protect all residents and visitors, including access to shelters and emergency infrastructure.
Behar emphasised that foreigners in Israel enjoy the same level of protection as Israeli citizens during security alerts.
“Our priority is to protect all residents and visitors in Israel. Kenyans and other foreign nationals have access to the same safety infrastructure as our own citizens,” he said.
Israel has remained on high alert in recent days following developments in the wider Middle East, prompting authorities to reinforce security measures and issue public advisories.
The envoy said the government continues to maintain systems designed to safeguard people during emergencies, including shelters that are accessible across cities and residential areas.
According to Behar, embassies and government agencies are also working closely to ensure that foreign nationals receive timely information and guidance during periods of heightened tension.
The reassurance comes as many Kenyans residing in Israel or planning travel to the country seek clarity on their safety amid the evolving regional situation.

Authorities have advised residents and visitors to remain vigilant, follow official instructions, and make use of designated safety infrastructure where necessary.
Israel’s embassy in Nairobi has also urged Kenyans in the country to stay informed through official government communication channels as the situation continues to be monitored.
