NAIROBI, Kenya- The Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs has issued urgent guidance for Kenyans living, working, or traveling in the Middle East, following a series of military attacks in the region.
The alert comes after U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran and subsequent retaliatory attacks by Iran on U.S. and Israeli bases in Gulf states.
Key Safety Measures for Kenyans Abroad
According to the advisory, all Kenyan citizens in Iran, Israel, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, and surrounding areas are urged to take the following precautions:
- Avoid Non-Essential Movement – Stay away from high-risk areas, including military facilities, government buildings, and crowded public spaces.
- Follow Local Authorities’ Instructions – Obey directives from security forces and emergency services in host countries.
- Stay Alert and Monitor Updates – Keep track of official communications from host governments, Kenyan embassies, and consulates.
- Check Flight and Airspace Notices – Be aware of flight cancellations or diversions, and adjust travel plans accordingly.
- Register With Your Embassy or Consulate – If not already registered, Kenyans should enroll immediately to receive timely updates and consular assistance.
