NAIROBI, Kenya – As Donald Trump claimed victory in a historic electoral comeback, political leaders worldwide quickly extended their congratulations, applauding his resilience and resolve.
Kenya’s former Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua, took to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate Trump’s projected win, lauding what he described as one of the “greatest political comebacks of our generation.”
“Congratulations, President Donald Trump, for one of the greatest political comebacks of our generation,” Gachagua wrote. Your victory is clear proof that resilience and a never-say-die attitude will always TRUMP obstacles on the path to your destiny.”

Gachagua’s message resonates with many Trump supporters who view this win as validation of his sustained influence on American politics.
In his victory address from Florida, Trump told supporters that his second term would focus on delivering a brighter future for Americans, pledging to restore the country’s global standing and address internal challenges.
“The situation was worsening, but we’ve turned the page,” he said, expressing gratitude to voters. “This is a chance to Make America Great again.”
Trump’s projected victory marks his comeback after a turbulent first term, during which he faced two impeachments — first in December 2019 over allegations of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, and again in January 2021.
Though acquitted on both occasions, his impeachments were historic, making him the only U.S. president to face this trial twice.
Gachagua’s own political career in Kenya bears its own share of drama.
In October 2024, he was impeached in a landmark Senate vote, becoming Kenya’s first deputy president removed under the 2010 Constitution.
