Kenya’s Judiciary Faces System Outage: E-Filing and Case Tracking Temporarily Down

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- If you’ve been trying to file a legal case online in Kenya today, you may have run into a roadblock.

On Thursday, the Judiciary announced a temporary outage affecting its e-filing, Case Tracking System (CTS), and Causelist platforms, putting a pause on some of its digital services.

While the technical team scrambles to restore these critical systems, the Judiciary has set up a workaround for those with urgent legal matters.

If you have time-sensitive pleadings or applications under a Certificate of Urgency, don’t panic—you can still submit them via email.

The Judiciary has instructed users to forward their documents to the respective court station emails and cc a copy to autonationdeputyregistrar@courts.go.ke for processing.

Although it’s not as convenient as the automated systems, it’s a solid Plan B while the tech team works around the clock to get everything back online.

In its statement, the Judiciary apologized for the disruption and asked for patience from the public, acknowledging the inconvenience the outage has caused.

If you have any questions or need additional information, you can reach out to the Judiciary directly via ictdirectorate@court.go.ke.

For now, users are encouraged to monitor the Judiciary’s official site for updates on the system restoration process. Fingers crossed the digital hiccup is resolved soon, so legal processes can get back to normal.
