NAIROBI, Kenya – The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened its online portal for students seeking admission to the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), giving aspiring health professionals two weeks to apply.
The application window, which began on October 1, will close on October 14, 2025, and covers a wide range of certificate, diploma, and higher diploma programmes offered across KMTC campuses nationwide.
In a statement, KUCCPS said the courses are designed to prepare students for careers in Kenya’s expanding healthcare sector and to support the government’s universal health coverage agenda.
Courses on Offer
Among the certificate-level courses available are Medical Engineering, Orthopaedic Trauma Medicine, Health Records and Information Technology, Public Health, Nutrition and Dietetics, and Emergency Medical Technician training.
Diploma options include Medical Laboratory Sciences, Radiography and Imaging, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Community Health, Mortuary Science, Speech and Language Therapy, and Occupational Therapy, among others.
Students applying for certificate courses must have a minimum KCSE grade of C- with specific subject qualifications, while diploma programmes require at least a C with relevant cluster subjects.
Applicants for upgrading courses must already hold a certificate in the relevant field, while higher diploma candidates need a diploma in the corresponding area.
How to Apply
All applications must be submitted through the KUCCPS Students’ Portal, where applicants can review programme details and entry requirements before completing the process.
The exercise is expected to attract hundreds of applicants as Kenya grapples with a growing demand for skilled healthcare workers.
KMTC, one of the country’s largest medical training institutions, produces graduates who go on to serve in hospitals, clinics, and community health facilities across the nation.
