NAIROBI, Kenya- In a move to enhance service delivery and accountability, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has emphasized the importance of performance contracts for government officials.
Speaking Monday morning at his office, Mudavadi highlighted the contracts as a cornerstone for achieving Kenya’s development objectives under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
During the signing ceremony for the 2024/2025 Performance Contracts, Mudavadi outlined the framework’s role in driving measurable outcomes across public service sectors.
The event included Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs Roseline Njogu, Council of Foreign Service Academy Chairperson Prof. Patrick Maluki, and Public Benefit Organizations Regulatory Authority Chairperson Hon. Mwambu Mabonga.
“Through these contracts, we reaffirm our commitment to advancing Kenya’s development goals and transforming lives,” Mudavadi said. “This structured framework ensures efficiency, effectiveness, transparency, and measurable results in service delivery.”
By tracking progress on government programs and policies, the annual exercise establishes a culture of accountability while keeping Kenya’s national priorities in sharp focus.
Mudavadi emphasized that the performance contracts align with Kenya’s strategic goals, aiming to enhance public safety, improve citizen services, and foster economic growth. This initiative, he added, ensures officials uphold integrity, diligence, and accountability in their duties.
“We expect all leaders and staff within public institutions to remain committed to their roles and deliver on their mandates with integrity,” he noted.
The signing of these contracts isn’t just an administrative exercise—it’s a pledge to elevate public service standards. By setting clear expectations and tracking results, the government hopes to build a more efficient and responsive public service.
As Mudavadi balances his dual roles as Prime Cabinet Secretary and Acting Interior Cabinet Secretary, he continues to champion initiatives that prioritize accountability and citizen-centric governance.
