NAIROBI, Kenya – Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua hosted National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) Vice Chairperson Wambui Nyutu on Monday for a mentorship session focused on leadership.

The meeting, held at Gachagua’s residence, aimed to provide Nyutu with guidance as she continues her public service journey.

“I have taken her through the rigours of leadership and guided her on the fact that public service is a calling and selfless,” Gachagua wrote, adding that Nyutu’s focus and sense of purpose were particularly impressive.

Nyutu, who has served as an NCIC commissioner since 2019, brings a wealth of experience to her role.

Before joining the NCIC, she held various legal and administrative positions, including serving as a Director at the National Irrigation Board of Kenya and working as a legal professional in prominent law firms.

An advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Nyutu holds an MBA in Strategic Management and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi.

Her leadership journey began during her university years, where she played active roles in student organizations.

In 2018, she was awarded the Order of Grand Warrior (OGW) by former President Uhuru Kenyatta in recognition of her contributions to public service.

During their meeting, Gachagua emphasized the importance of servant leadership, describing public service as a selfless calling.

He commended Nyutu’s knowledge and her dedication to uplifting the people of Murang’a County
