ODM MP Dismisses UDA-ANC Merger: “Even If You Merge All Villages”

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya – In a post on his X account, Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has dismissed the recently announced merger between the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and Amani National Congress (ANC) as futile.

Amisi likened the union to that of a “dead horse” and a “beast of burden,” predicting that it would produce a “sterile mule.”

“A merger between UDA party; a dead horse and ANC party; a beast of burden, can only produce a mule. A mule is sterile and cannot produce offspring,” Amisi wrote.

He further claimed that both the Western and Central regions are politically lost to the merger, saying, “Western is gone and Central is gone, even if you merge all villages in the western region from Ezevorogi to Sirisia to form Shamakhokho, nothing will change. I am from Western, and it is either completely gone or gone completely.”

Amisi challenged the proponents of the merger to test their popularity in the region.

“If you doubt, go hold a rally in Mbale and shout UDA,” he concluded.

The merger between UDA and ANC, announced today, aims to consolidate their influence ahead of the 2027 elections.
