KAPSABET, Kenya — Police in Nandi County are investigating the sudden death of a senior national police officer who collapsed at his home early Friday morning.
According to an occurrence report filed at Kapsabet Police Station under OB No. 10/06/12/2025, Dr. Andrew Tuimur informed authorities at 7:20 am that his brother, Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Philip Kipchirchir Tuimur, had died shortly after being rushed to Kapsabet County Referral Hospital.
Police officers who visited the hospital were briefed by family members that the senior officer collapsed at around 5:00 am at his home in Kabutie village, Kapng’etuny area, Chesumei Sub-county.
He was transported to the referral facility, where medical personnel pronounced him dead on arrival.
AIG Tuimur, service number 215334, was stationed at Vigilance House, the national police headquarters in Nairobi.
His body has been moved to Samaritan Farewell Home pending a post-mortem examination to establish the cause of death.
Authorities say further investigations are underway.
