Tension As Ex-Mungiki Leader Maina Njenga Storms Prayer Event In Nyeri

Date:

NYERI, Kenya- A prayer meeting hosted by Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, wife of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, turned chaotic on Friday after former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga, accompanied by dozens of youths, disrupted the event at Kamukunji Grounds.

Eyewitnesses said Njenga and his group stormed the venue as Pastor Dorcas was praying.

The incident caused visible tension among attendees, forcing Pastor Dorcas and her team to leave under a security escort.

Njenga, who has been a controversial figure in Kenyan politics due to his links to the outlawed Mungiki sect, appeared unfazed by the presence of religious leaders and private security personnel at the event.
