Traffic Disruptions Expected Along Haile Selassie Avenue As Co-op Bank Announce Maintenance Works

NAIROBI, Kenya — Motorists in Nairobi and its environs have been advised to prepare for temporary traffic disruptions beginning Thursday, November 13, following a notice issued by the Co-operative Bank of Kenya.

In a public notice dated November 12, Co-operative Bank announced that the Haile Selassie Avenue service lane will experience interruptions over a four-day period to allow for the lifting and placement of heavy equipment at its Co-operative Bank House headquarters.

“Co-op Bank will be lifting and placing some heavy equipment on our Co-operative Bank House building. Due to this, there will be traffic disruption along the service lane on Haile Selassie Avenue,” the bank stated.

The disruption will specifically affect the lane outside the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) and Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) headquarters. The scheduled works will take place as follows:

  • Thursday, November 13: 7:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.
  • Friday, November 14: 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, November 15: 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, November 16: 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Despite the disruptions, Co-op Bank confirmed that its Haile Selassie branch will operate as usual during the maintenance period and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
