NAIROBI, Kenya – A recent opinion poll conducted by Politrack Africa revealed Deputy President Kithure Kindiki’s growing prominence as a unifying figure in the Mt. Kenya region and beyond.
It was conducted between November 9 and 13, and 3,211 registered voters from across Kenya were sampled.
The findings showed that Kindiki is viewed favorably across several metrics, including his ability to fulfill his mandate, foster unity, and address pressing national issues.
Notably, 62.1% of respondents believed there is “renewed hope” in his leadership, with an additional 22.5% agreeing to a lesser extent.
The data reflected significant public confidence in Kindiki’s ability to deliver as Deputy President.
When asked if they believe he will fulfill his mandate, 63.4% strongly agreed, and 21.5% agreed, representing an overall approval of 84.9%.
His commitment to addressing national challenges also received high marks, with a majority of participants perceiving him as “extremely committed.”
This confidence extended to his capacity to promote national unity and improve ethnic relations, with 54.3% affirming he is best suited for the role, while 27.3% remained undecided.
One of the survey’s standout findings is Kindiki’s perceived potential to unite the Mt. Kenya region.
Nearly 59% of respondents considered this “very probable,” while 24.6% thought it was “somewhat probable.”
The Deputy President outshone other leaders as the best representative of Mt. Kenya voters, securing 62.1% of the vote in this category.
Ndindi Nyoro trailed him at 17.9% and Rigathi Gachagua at 9.1%.
Despite the strong ratings, the survey also highlighted areas for improvement.
While optimism about regional unity was evident, 8.9% viewed it as “somewhat improbable,” and 3.7% thought it was unlikely.
Nevertheless, the overall sentiment remains positive.
Politrack’s findings suggest that Kindiki’s leadership resonates with Kenyans, particularly in Mt. Kenya, where his vision for unity and effective representation continues to gain traction.
