KIAMBU, Kenya – After a devastating fire gutted Modern Furniture Pacific’s production facility in Ruiru, Kiambu County, owner Gibson Murage has reassured customers and employees that the business will fully resume operations on Monday.
The fire, which caused extensive damage to the facility and destroyed property of unknown value, left hundreds of employees and customers in limbo.
However, Murage has acted swiftly to turn the tide, announcing the installation of new equipment and a commitment to getting operations back on track.
“After the unexpected fire accident, I had to have a new plan. As of today, we have new equipment at our production facility,” Murage said in a statement. “Rest assured that by Monday morning, everything will be moving on well. We had to work on this so that even the hundreds of employees who rely on Modern Furniture Pacific wouldn’t go home.”
Murage’s statement also highlighted his dedication to his team and customers, emphasizing that employee job security was his top priority.
“I’m so excited that they’ll be back to work. I promised them that their jobs are secure,” he said, adding a heartfelt message of gratitude to supporters. “Thank you for your incredible support and messages of comfort. We’re now back to continue hammering wood in your style.”
