NAIROBI, Kenya – The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has unveiled a seven-member Transition Ad Hoc Committee to ensure a smooth leadership transition.

This committee will oversee the changeover following the federation’s elections held on December 7, 2024.

The Transition Ad Hoc Committee is tasked with establishing strong governance frameworks to guarantee a seamless handover.

McDonald Mariga, FKF Vice President, has been appointed as the committee’s chair, with Women Representative Kerubo Momanyi taking the role of Deputy Chairperson.

The committee’s Secretary position will be held by Bernard Lagat, Upper Rift FKF Branch NEC Member.

Other members include Charles Njoka Njagi (Eastern NEC Member), Robert Macharia (Central NEC Member), Ahmedqadar Mohammed Dabar (North Eastern NEC Member), and Peter “Kass Kass” Kamau (Lower Rift NEC Member).

Their primary responsibility will be to maintain operational continuity within FKF, ensuring that the federation’s essential functions and processes remain uninterrupted during the leadership change.

Moreover, the committee aims to uphold FKF’s transparency and credibility, thereby preserving institutional integrity.

This initiative is intended to equip the newly elected National Executive Committee with a comprehensive understanding of the federation’s current status, enabling effective management of its affairs.

In addition to these responsibilities, the committee will work on enhancing FKF’s administrative, technical, and strategic capacities to foster sustainable growth and long-term success.

A thorough audit focusing on finance and human resources will also be conducted to bolster accountability and transparency within the organization.

“We are confident in the leadership and expertise of the Transition Ad Hoc Committee and trust that they will fulfil their mandate effectively,” FKF President Hussein Mohammed remarked.

President Mohammed also expressed his satisfaction with the committee’s swift initiation of its duties.

“One month into office, I’m proud to see the critical governance structures of FKF taking shape. This is a key step towards rebuilding trust in our football. I remain committed to ensuring transparency and accountability are the foundation of everything we do,” he added.
