NYERI, Kenya – Kagumo High School in Nyeri has once again demonstrated its academic prowess in the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results, with an impressive performance that underscores its dedication to excellence.
Dr. Silas Mwirigi, the principal, announced the school’s remarkable achievement, revealing a mean score of 9.543.
The breakdown of the 2024 KCSE results for Kagumo High School is as follows: 41 students attained A plain grades, 100 secured A-minus, 116 achieved B plus, 84 earned B plain, 47 got B-minus, 35 received C plus, 14 obtained C plain, and 7 managed C-minus.
Dr. Mwirigi attributed this outstanding performance to several factors, including the fear of God, the commitment of both students and staff, discipline, and the unwavering support from parents, teachers, and the Board of Management (BOM).
This year’s performance marks an improvement from the 2023 KCSE results, where Kagumo High School was the best in Nyeri County, achieving a mean score of 9.306 points.
In 2023, 211 out of the 396 students who sat for the exams attained the required university entry point of a B grade and above.
Overall, 96 percent of the candidates secured university placement after meeting the cut-off point of C plus.
Despite having more students in 2024, Kagumo High School managed to surpass its previous results, showcasing its ability to maintain high standards of education and student success.
