KNEC Withholds 2024 KCSE Results For 2,829 Candidates

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya – Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba Migos has spoken about the examination irregularities in the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) tests.

According to the CS, 840 candidates were involved in examination irregularities in the 2024 KCSE examination, and their examination results have been canceled.

According to CS Ogamba, the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) is empowered by law, as provided in the Kenya National Examination Council (Handling of Examination Irregularities) Rules of 2015, Legal Notice No. 132 of 2015, Rule 8, to withhold the results of any candidate or examination centre suspected of having been involved in an examination irregularity or malpractice pending the completion of investigations.

“Thus, the results of the 2,829 candidates suspected of having been involved in the examination irregularities have been withheld pending completion of investigations that should be completed within 30 days from the official day of release of examination results,” said the CS.

Who are individuals aiding candidates in examination cheating

CS Ogamba also raised concern over unscrupulous education officials aiding candidates in stealing the examinations.

“Unfortunately, a few contracted professionals and teachers are, however, still insistent on ruining the future of our learners by subjecting them to examination malpractices,” added the CS.

He observed that ninety-one (91) contracted professionals were reportedly involved in aiding examination malpractices.

“Firm disciplinary action will be taken against such teachers,” warned the CS while unveiling the results at Mtihani House in Nairobi.

Where can candidates access their 2024 KCSE examination results

To enhance the credibility of the examination process, CS Ogamba revealed that candidates’ examination question papers were personalised and anonymized for the first time.

“This helped to improve objectivity during marking and holding candidates personally responsible for any irregularities,” the CS disclosed.

Meanwhile, individual 2024 KCSE candidates’ examination results can be accessed online through a link on the KNEC website or directly through the URL: https://results.knec.ac.ke .

Candidates will be required to enter the candidate’s index number and any one of the names as per the registration data for the 2024 KCSE examination.

KNEC announced that the results will be available immediately after the end of the function.

Any candidate with difficulties in accessing individual results has been advised to call KNEC toll-free no. 08080-0724900 or 080-0721410.
