NAIROBI, Kenya– Kenyan automotive manufacturer Mobius Motors is set for a new chapter following its acquisition by Silver Box, a Middle East-based firm specializing in business investment, corporate management, and advanced technology.
Silver Box has pledged to uphold and expand the legacy of Mobius Motors, which has been a key player in Kenya’s automotive sector for over 14 years.
The company is known for producing rugged, locally assembled vehicles designed to withstand the country’s demanding terrain.
With the takeover, Silver Box has reopened the Mobius service center and resumed vehicle servicing.
Full-scale production is expected to resume by July 2025, with the Mobius 3 Model and an all-new 4×4 SUV slated for launch in December.
As part of the transition, Silver Box has appointed John Kavila as the new CEO of Mobius Motors.
Kavila, who has extensive experience in manufacturing, operations, and customer service, aims to steer the company toward growth and market expansion.
“I am deeply honored to lead Mobius Motors, a company known for its bold and innovative approach in creating a truly unique Kenyan brand,” said Kavila. “We plan to build on this success by increasing our market share and making our vehicles more accessible to Kenyan consumers.”
Outgoing CEO Nicolas Guibert expressed confidence in Silver Box’s ability to sustain and grow the Mobius brand.
“Among the three bids, Silver Box stood out as the best choice—not just to ensure continuity, but also to drive the company’s future growth,” he said.
