Nairobi, Kenya — If you’re constantly hopping into an Uber or ordering from Uber Eats, there’s a new way to save some cash.
Uber Kenya has officially launched Uber One, a subscription-based membership designed to give frequent users discounts on rides and food deliveries.
At just Sh280 per month (or Sh2,800 annually), members unlock lower fares, free deliveries, and special rewards—a first-of-its-kind offering in Kenya.
What You Get With Uber One
Uber One isn’t just about cutting costs—it’s about making Uber’s services more seamless and rewarding.
Imran Manji, Uber’s Head of East Africa, broke down the perks at the official launch event:
✅ Ride Discounts – Save 10pc on Uber Comfort and Uber XL rides, and 5pc on Uber ChapChap and Uber Boda.
✅ Zero Delivery Fees – No extra charges on Uber Eats orders.
✅ No Service Fees – Members get 100pc off service fees when using Uber Eats.
“Uber One is about making everyday life easier for our users,” Manji said. “Whether you’re commuting or ordering food, we want to offer you the best value possible.”
Uber Eats Gets a Boost Too
Uber Eats General Manager Kui Mbugua Macharia echoed the excitement, saying the program enhances convenience for users.
“We want customers to experience firsthand how Uber can make their every day more effortless,” she explained.
“Uber One provides exclusive access to rides, food delivery, and even groceries, with preferred pricing and surprise perks along the way.”
From Pilot to Full Launch
Uber first tested Uber One in Kenya in November 2024, and after a successful pilot, it’s now officially rolling out.
Kenya joins South Africa, Sri Lanka, Germany, India, and the UK, where the program is already live.
With Uber One, getting around and ordering food just got a little lighter on the wallet—especially for those who use Uber regularly. So, is it time to hit that subscribe button?
