NAIROBI, Kenya- Samsung never fails to dazzle with its Galaxy Unpacked events, and 2024 is shaping up to be no exception.
With the January Unpacked event showcasing the latest Galaxy S phones now behind us, the spotlight shifts to the highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked Summer 2024.
And if the rumors are true, this year’s event might arrive sooner than expected.
An Early Date to Beat the Olympic Rush
Previously, Samsung has reserved its summer Unpacked events for August, as seen with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 introduction on August 10, 2022.
Last year, however, Samsung surprised everyone by moving the date up to July 26 to debut the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5.
This year, Samsung seems to be pushing the schedule even earlier. According to a Sammobile report, the event is slated for July 10, 2024. The reason? Samsung wants to get its latest gadgets into the spotlight before the Paris Olympics kick off on July 26.
As a sponsor of the Olympics, the tech giant is keen on leveraging the global event to maximize buzz around its new releases.
What to Expect: Foldables and More
If tradition holds, foldable phones will likely be the stars of the show.
The next iterations of the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip are expected to take center stage, continuing Samsung’s legacy of innovation in the foldable phone market.
Samsung teased a new product at its last Galaxy Unpacked event in January. While details remain under wraps, this mysterious device is expected to be fully unveiled at the summer event.
Given Samsung’s track record, it’s bound to be something that will make tech enthusiasts’ hearts race.
Breaking away from its usual venues in New York and San Francisco, last year’s summer Unpacked event took place in Seoul, close to Samsung’s headquarters.
This year, the company is planning another international showcase.
The same Sammobile report suggests that Paris will be the stage for the 2024 event, aligning with Samsung’s strategy to get ahead of the Olympic hype and draw global attention.
