Gachagua Champions Raila Odinga’s AU Bid, Hails His Unmatched Passion for Pan-Africanism

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya -Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has endorsed Raila Odinga’s candidacy for the African Union Commission (AUC) chairmanship, lauding Odinga’s unparalleled dedication to Pan-Africanism.

Gachagua emphasized that Odinga’s passion go beyond age and limitations, rallying Kenyans to unite behind the former Prime Minister’s bid.

“The fervor and commitment Raila Odinga has shown for Pan-Africanism are extraordinary. His passion knows no boundaries,” Gachagua declared. “Kenyans stand united in their support for Raila to lead the African Union.”

At the official launch of his candidacy on Tuesday, Raila Odinga articulated his vision for a people-centered AU.

He pledged to collaborate with all African heads of state to ensure the AU directly impacts the lives of ordinary Africans.

“I am committed to making the African Union a beacon of people-centered governance. The African people deserve to feel the AU’s presence and influence in their everyday lives,” Odinga asserted.

Odinga also underscored his desire for a unified Africa, free from regional divisions.

“My goal is to foster a united Africa, not fragmented by regional differences,” he said.

The AU Commission elections are scheduled for February next year.

Kenya formally submitted Odinga’s candidacy in July, as the outgoing AUC chair, Moussa Faki, concludes his two-term tenure.
