In a high-level meeting held today, Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, met with Amref Kenya Country Director Meshack Ndirangu to outline enhanced strategies for collaboration.
The focus of the meeting was to review ongoing health initiatives while charting new avenues to strengthen joint efforts against these life-threatening diseases.
“We assessed our progress and are looking at ways to scale up the work we’re already doing,” Muthoni noted, underscoring the need for fortified public health systems to achieve significant health outcomes.
Key areas of discussion included bolstering disease prevention, expanding sanitation programs, and improving public health education to address the root causes of these diseases in communities most affected.
The renewed partnership also aims to leverage resources from both the government and Amref to ensure sustainable health interventions nationwide.
Deputy Director General for the State Department of Public Health, Sultani Matendechero, and other senior health officials were also present, signaling a unified front in addressing the nation’s critical health priorities.
