How to Fuliza When You Have Insufficient Funds

Date:

Fuliza is a mobile overdraft service offered by Safaricom, a telecommunications company in Kenya.

It allows Safaricom customers to complete transactions even when they have insufficient funds in their M-Pesa accounts. Here’s how you can use Fuliza:

  • Check Eligibility: Before using Fuliza, make sure you are eligible for the service. Typically, Safaricom customers with an active M-Pesa account and a good repayment history are eligible.
  • Activate Fuliza: If you are eligible, you can activate Fuliza by dialing *234# on your Safaricom line. Follow the prompts to activate Fuliza and set your preferred limit.
  • Use Fuliza: Once Fuliza is activated, you can use it to complete transactions such as sending money, paying bills, or purchasing goods and services, even if you have insufficient funds in your M-Pesa account.
  • Repay Fuliza: Fuliza works like an overdraft, allowing you to borrow money temporarily. You will need to repay the borrowed amount within a specified period, usually within 30 days. The repayment is automatically deducted from your M-Pesa account once you deposit money into it.
  • Monitor Your Fuliza Balance: Keep track of your Fuliza balance and ensure that you repay the borrowed amount on time to avoid penalties or restrictions on your M-Pesa account.
  • Review Terms and Conditions: Familiarize yourself with the terms and conditions of Fuliza, including interest rates, fees, and repayment terms. It’s important to understand the costs associated with using the service.
  • Contact Customer Support: If you have any questions or encounter issues while using Fuliza, you can contact Safaricom customer support for assistance. They can guide how to use the service effectively and address any concerns you may have.

Remember to use Fuliza responsibly and only borrow what you can afford to repay to avoid financial difficulties.
