Britam Launches ‘Malkia’ Female Wellness Cover to Address Women’s Unique Health Needs

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- Britam has introduced the Female Wellness Cover (Malkia)—an affordable, comprehensive insurance plan tailored to support women’s diverse health and wellness needs.

With premiums starting as low as Sh620 annually, this coverage offers financial relief across critical health concerns like cancer and skin conditions and includes AI-powered pregnancy support for a holistic approach to women’s wellness.

Designed to provide both medical and non-medical benefits, Malkia is set to redefine accessible, personalized health coverage for women in Kenya.

A standout feature of the Malkia plan is its focus on providing vital financial assistance for serious health challenges that women often face, including cancers such as cervical, ovarian, and breast cancer.

Policyholders diagnosed with any of these conditions receive a lump-sum payment to help offset medical bills and support daily expenses. As treatment progresses, a second cash payout offers continued support, ensuring stability throughout recovery.

For skin-related concerns, Malkia covers conditions like acne, eczema, and psoriasis.

This benefit includes consultations, skin analyses, and prescriptions, as well as coverage for medically necessary cosmetic procedures, allowing women to access comprehensive dermatological care.

With this added layer of support, Malkia prioritizes a holistic approach to health and well-being, aiming to provide peace of mind and security during difficult times.

Britam’s Malkia cover introduces a groundbreaking feature for expectant mothers—AI-powered pregnancy support.

Available 24/7, this digital assistance offers real-time guidance on prenatal care, mental health resources, and regular reminders tailored to each stage of pregnancy.

Extending up to six months postpartum, Malkia ensures that mothers have access to expert advice and support throughout the journey to parenthood.

By integrating technology into maternal health, Britam is providing a valuable resource to empower women with information and support during one of life’s most transformative experiences.

Britam designed Malkia with affordability in mind, making it accessible to women across different income levels.

For women aged 18-30, premiums begin at just Sh620 annually, providing cancer coverage of Sh50,000, dermatology benefits of Sh15,000, and a Sh20,000 last-expense benefit.

As policyholders age, coverage and premiums adjust accordingly, with women aged 50-65 eligible for up to Sh500,000 in cancer benefits and Sh30,000 in dermatology coverage.

This tiered pricing structure ensures that women across all stages of life—from young adulthood to their senior years—can access essential health coverage tailored to their needs.
