NAIROBI, Kenya- Nairobi Chapel has set its sights on transforming the lives of deserving students across Kenya with the launch of a Sh150 million fundraising campaign to establish the LOGOs Education Endowment Fund.
This initiative aims to provide a sustainable source of financial support for Kenyan students who face economic hardships, building upon the success of the LOGOs Scholarship Fund, which has already helped over 1,035 students since its inception in 2008 and currently supports 232 students each year.
Shifting to an endowment model, Nairobi Chapel is ensuring that the program will have lasting impact.
The endowment fund’s purpose is to create a continuous financial foundation to assist students in overcoming financial obstacles to their education.
Rev. Nick Korir, Nairobi Chapel’s Senior Pastor and an avid adventure motorcyclist, emphasized the need for this sustainable solution: “Launching the LOGOs Education Endowment Fund will ensure we have a sustainable way to help more students,” he shared.
In a show of personal commitment, Rev. Korir announced he will embark on a six-month journey dubbed “Around Africa on a Motorcycle,” beginning in December 2024 and ending in May 2025.
Covering 40,000 kilometers and traveling through 40 African countries, Korir’s journey aims to raise awareness and inspire donations for the LOGOs Endowment Fund.
He won’t be riding alone—bikers from various African nations are set to join him in solidarity, making this a truly continental effort in support of education.
The LOGOs Scholarship Fund’s impact resonates deeply with its beneficiaries. James WaNjeri, a lawyer and former scholarship recipient, shared his story to illustrate the program’s transformative effect.
He described how the scholarship gave him the support he needed to pursue his dreams, offering a glimpse into the possibilities that the new endowment fund could unlock for future generations.
By establishing this endowment fund, Nairobi Chapel not only commits to expanding access to education but also invites the broader community to join the cause.
Nairobi Chapel hopes to inspire donations and support from across Africa, creating a ripple effect that will benefit students in need for years to come.
