DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — Emirates has temporarily suspended all flights to and from Dubai International Airport, urging passengers not to travel to the airport as authorities assess the security situation.
In a statement posted on its official customer support platform, the airline said operations were halted as a precaution while further updates are being prepared.
“All flights to and from Dubai have been temporarily suspended. Please do not go to the airport,” the airline said.
Emirates added that it would issue further travel guidance once more information becomes available, thanking passengers for their patience and understanding.
“The safety of our passengers and crew is our highest priority and will not be compromised,” the airline said.
The disruption comes amid heightened security concerns around Dubai’s main aviation hub after authorities reported a drone-related incident near the airport earlier Monday that caused a fire in the vicinity and forced aviation officials to halt flight operations.

Officials said the situation was brought under control, but flights were suspended as a precaution while safety assessments were conducted. Some aircraft were diverted to nearby airports, including Al Maktoum International Airport.
The incident occurs against the backdrop of rising regional tensions and periodic airspace disruptions across parts of the Middle East that have already affected commercial aviation in recent weeks.
Dubai International Airport is one of the world’s busiest global transit hubs and serves as the primary base for Emirates, which operates hundreds of daily flights connecting Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas.
Travelers with bookings have been advised to monitor flight updates through the airline’s official channels and avoid going to the airport until they receive confirmation that operations have resumed.
