15 Painters Receive Sh50,000 School Fees Support From Kansai Plascon Kenya

Date:

NAIROBI, Kenya- Kansai Plascon Kenya has awarded 15 painters KSh 50,000 each in school fees support under its 2025 Shinda School Fees Support Programme, a corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at easing education costs for painters’ families.

The programme, implemented in partnership with Muthokinju Paints and Cement, attracted participation from painters across the country and targeted those with school-going children in need of financial support.

In total, the initiative will disburse Sh750,000, with recipients being recognised and awarded in different regions as part of an ongoing rollout.

Supporting Painters Beyond the Worksite

Speaking on the initiative, Kota Enami, Managing Director of Kansai Plascon Kenya, said the programme was informed by the economic pressures faced by painters, particularly around education expenses.

“Painters are not only skilled professionals — they are parents, guardians, and breadwinners,” said Enami.

“This programme is about supporting education within the painting community and helping families manage one of their biggest financial obligations.”

Kansai Plascon Kenya said the programme is part of its wider efforts to maintain long-term engagement with painters and support their livelihoods beyond product use and training.

Focus on Education and Community Impact

The Shinda School Fees Support Programme focuses specifically on education, which remains a major cost for many informal and skilled workers.

Company officials said the initiative reflects a growing emphasis on community-based interventions that address everyday challenges faced by tradespeople.

“Supporting education is an investment in the future, not just for families but for the industry as a whole,” Enami added.

The company said it plans to continue engaging painters through similar initiatives as part of its broader community and trade support programmes.
