NAIROBI, Kenya – The Government has reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with the private sector to create an investor-friendly environment that promotes innovation, protects public interest, and accelerates Kenya’s digital economy.
At the Ministry Headquarters on Thursday, ICT Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo met with a delegation from the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) ICT Sector Board, led by Chairman Ben Roberts.
The discussions focused on practical steps to strengthen collaboration between government and industry in shaping Kenya’s digital future, particularly around the proliferation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the need for progressive regulation that protects national interests while promoting investor confidence.
Cabinet Secretary Kabogo emphasised the importance of reliable and secure data centres and harmonised cross-border data transfer frameworks.
He also highlighted government initiatives such as nationwide digital skilling programmes, the 100,000km Digital Superhighway, and the establishment of digital hubs to expand connectivity and opportunities for Kenyans.
“Youth inclusion remains central to our agenda, especially as both government and private institutions digitise records and services,” CS Kabogo said.
