Senior Public Finance Officials To Undergo 6-Month Training

NAIROBI, Kenya – Senior Public Finance Management officials from various institutions will benefit from a six month Leadership Excellence in Africa Public Sector (LEAPS) program aimed at strengthening leadership capabilities, address key challenges in Public Financial Management (PFM), and promote collaboration and sustainable development across the continent.

The program launched today by African Capacity Building Foundation in Nairobi is designed to equip senior Public finance officials with enhanced leadership skills, governance expertise, and peer-to-peer learning.

Speaking as he officially launched the Program, Public Finance Management Reforms (PFMR) Program Coordinator Joel Bett noted that the initiative will complement public finance management reforms agenda of good governance, overall goal of Sustainable development and service delivery to the citizens as well as public finance management practices.

The Leadership Excellence in Africa’s Public Sector (LEAPS) Program will in the next six months offer strategic practical skills to senior PFM officials not just in Kenya but in Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Cote D’Ivoire and Senegal.

African Capacity Building Foundation Nairobi, Program Coordinator Mohammed Salat said the program has been designed as a country based needs assessment to address key challenges.
