At the tick of the clock to usher in the New Year, most of us were jubilant with screams and shouting and all the joyful ways we welcome a new year. We were full of hope for a new year and eager to leave behind the atrocities of the previous year like a distant memory.
However, the catching up is happening too fast, and we realize how wonky 2025 is starting to be.

Nothing is as unsettling as being threatened with a second-term presidency of a president you already think of as underperforming, and who has clearly been told he should go!
Among so many things that are threatening the sanity of Kenyans, this has got to be the top of the list. Though we are told not to dwell on things that we can’t change, how can we not when it’s the only topic all underwhelming politicians are talking about, and the underwhelming make up the majority of our politicians?
HMPV Virus in China
On account of things we can’t control, the HMPV virus is on the loose in China, and if COVID-19 taught us anything, it is that anything is possible. So, within the many jokes we’ve made concerning HMPV, deep within us, there is a fear that it could get out of hand so fast, and we are likely to live the same fears we did in 2020 and beyond.
Mostly, when we think of anxiety, we think of very personal situations. Money-related problems, unhealthy diagnoses, poor decisions, and anxiety. Everything we never anticipated could cause us anxiety, adding on top of issues and giving us sleepless nights.

While life on personal levels could really be thriving, the social aspects seem to be going wrong on many fronts.
The much-talked story of Sophia and Bumpy jolted the most even out of the unopinionated lot. New Year resolutions might have already been made and settled on, but there is nothing to get you introspecting about the person you claim to love than this story.
You either thought you were so lucky to be in the relationship you are in, or you were left wondering whether you are a Sophia in your love story or you have a Bumpy in your life, still evolving, getting emboldened by every action you tolerate. Either way, you could be Bumpys’ family: enablers who won’t stand up to one of their own.
